Although the nation’s crop production in 1934 was the lowest for many years, as a result of the drought and the Government curtailment programme, the value was the largest for several years. According to a Department of Agriulture report published to-day, the current harvest is approximately 4,782,000,000 dollars, compared with 4,114,000,000 in 1935, and 2,882,000,000 in 1932. For example, the maize crop was 1,380,000,000 bushels, compared with 2,906,000,000 in 1932, but it brought producers 1,085,000,000 dollars, compared with 558,000,000 in the former year. The wheat crop was 496,00,000 bushels or 250,000,000 below 1932, but it was worth about 200,000,000 dollars more.
