Another attempt to make an aerial exploration of the North Eastern peaks was defeated when Harold June was forced to turn back by heavy fogs after an hour’s flight at a high altitude. The motors stopped when the petrol supply failed and the ’plane nearly crashed, but June managed to bring the craft back to the camp safely. Rear-Admiral Byrd has indicated that no more flight attempts will be made.
