The King recently decorated a London G.P.O. detective who had been responsible for the spectacular round up of one of the cleverest gangs in the country. In 1931, nine years after the nrst telephone kiosks had been constructed for public use. the Post Office founa that £4OOO had been stolen from 2000 kiosks within 12 months. After many months’ patient work this detective arrested the master crook, with the result that thefts now amount to something like £9 per month, compared with £7OO per month in 1932. The G.P.O. will doubtless rejoice in the amount saved just as the man who enjoys Blue Shield (medium) or Red .Shield (dark) is pleased to feel that he is saving money and yet getting better results from his pipe than ever before. These delightful New Zealand tobaccos are toasted to a turn —the process which develops their qualities and makes them so altogether wholesome and satisfying to smoke. Blue Shield (medium) and Red Shield (dark) are obtainable everywhere, 1/7 per 2oz. tin—and in onepound canisters
