CHRISTCHURCH BEATS WELLINGTON TUSON CUP MATCH By Telegraph —Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, November 19. Matches for the Tuson Cup and Veterans’ Salver between the Christchurch Golf Club and the Wellington Golf Club were played to-day. Both trophies, which had previously been held by Wellington, were won by Christchurch. Results:— Tuson Cup. (Christchurch names first) F. J. Ward beat D. O. Whyte. R. T. Tosswill beat G. P. Roberts. P. H. N. Freeth halved with P. G. Whitcombe. “ M. H. Godby beat J. G. D, Duncan. L. A. Dougall lost to P. W. Blundell. P. R. Godby lost to G. T. Dawson. M. W. Simes lost to E. Page. W. H, Cowper beat J. C. Peacock. Christchurch, 41 games; Wellington, 34. Four-ball Matches. Ward and Tosswill beat Whyte and Roberts. Freeth and M. H. Godby lost to Whitcombe and Blundell. Christchurch, 6 games; Wellington, 0. MIRAMAR CHAMPIONSHIP. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 19. The Miramar golf championship was won by J. H. Drake, who defeated Harold Black, one up, over 36 holes. Drake was five up at the ninth, but Black regained three holes in the latter half of the morning round, which Drake completed in 71, while Black took 73. In the afternoon round, Drake was one up at the turn, but Black squared the game at the thirty-fifth. At the thirty-sixth Drake holed an eight foot putt, and Black had an eighteen inch putt for a half, but to everybody’s amazement he missed, the ball being deflected from the hole by a tuft of clover.
