Mr W. Conaghan (Sydney) is visiting Timaru and is at the Grosvenor. Messrs W. Tovey and J. Keating < Dunedin) are guests at the Dominion. Messrs L. E. Wilson (Dtfnedin), F. J. Poff and W. Spong (Christchurch) are staying at the Empire. Mr S. Razell Wood (Rector of St. Saviour’s Orphanage) has returned from a visit to North Canterbury. The appointment of Mr John Reid as trustee of the Geraldine racecourse is announced in the Gazette. Messrs C. E. Elms (Queens town), F. S. Dyer, T. Moorhouse (Christchurch), and G. H. Austad (Wellington) are registered at the Grosvenor. Archbishop Redwood, who is a patient at Lewisham Hospital, Wellington, is greatly improved in health, and is able to enjoy short motor drives from the hospital. Mr J. T. Robson, headmaster of the Wairoa District High School for the past 13 years, has tendered his resignation to take effect as from February 1, 1935. Mr Robson will be succeeded by Mr A. J. McLean. Mr W. E. G. Paqualin, manager of the Wanganui branch of the Union Bank of Australia, has been appointed manager at Palmerston North, and will take over duties in that centre after Christmas. Cable advice has been received that Mr C. M. Turrell, general manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd., accompanied by Mrs Turrell, left London by the R.M.S. Rangitata on November 15. The Rangitata is due at Auckland on December 19.
