Dominion Meteorologist General situation —A deep cyclonic depression extends from the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand with Its centre west of the South Island. Winds—Variable at first over the southern portion of the South Island, otherwise moderate to strong northwesterly prevailing, reaching gale force at times about Cook Strait, a general change to southerly likely within 24 hours. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough on the West Coast and about Cook Strait, elsewhere moderate but rising generally. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong westerly winds backing to southerlies, seas rough to heavy. Weather—Still unsettled, with further rain in most districts; some heavy falls likely in the central and southern areas; temperatures mild, becoming colder to-morrow. Mr F. L. Wooles Wind—Moderate to strong southerly ruling. Weather—Further rain likely; colder. Outlook for week ending November 26—Wind mainly westerly to southerly; weather more or less unsettled, with a fair rainfall. Conditions In Timaru. Dull, overcast weather prevailed in Timaru yesterday. Light misty rain fell in the morning, but for the greater part of the day conditions were fine. Further light rain fell last night, however.
