A feature of the second day’s play In the testimonial cricket match Australia v. The Rest was Woodfull’s fine century made in a partnership with Ponsford. Woodfull was given a great ovation by a crowd of 22,600 which attended notwithstanding unfavourable weather in the morning. The enthusiasm indicated the high esteem in which Woodfull, the retiring test captain who is playing his last match in big cricket is held. He reached the century in 172 minutes. McCabe, unfortunately, was injured when he was struck on the hand by a ball from McCormick, breaking a small bone. He is not likely to play cricket as a result for two months.
