CONTROL OF BETTING
RESTRICTION ON SALE OF LOTTERY TICKETS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 16, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 15. The House of Lords agreed to the amendments made by the House of Commons to the Betting and Lotteries Bill. Lord Londonderry emphasised that, though a citizen as under the present law would be able to send for a share ticket in the Irish or other lottery, this would not give the right of sweep promoters to flood the country with tickets. The Bill represented the determination to restrict the flow of money to sweepstakes out of the country. The Government would take the necessary steps to achieve that object.
