WOMEN’S DIVISION
SOUTHBURN BRANCH At the mon thy meeting of the Southburn Branch of the Women’s Division. Mrs A. Ward presided over a fair attendance of members. The president welcomed Mrs Caswell and Miss A. Parry as new members. An invitation was received from the Timaru Branch to a social afternoon in honour of its fifth anniversary. Arrangements for the concert and dance which had been postponed owing- to influenza in the district were left in the hands of the younger members. Mesdames Chamberlain and Robt. Parry gave an instructive talk on gardening- and were accorded a vote of thanks. The competitions resulted.—Scones: Miss Evans 1. Mrs Evans 2, Mrs Bishop 3. Best flower in garden: Mrs Chamberlain 1. Mrs Parry 2. Mrs Bell 3. Butter: Mrs Ward 1, Mrs Bishop 2, Mrs Armstrong 3. The hostesses were Misses M. Evans and M. Bennett.
