The Wingatui arrived from the south yesterday, and sailed later for Picton, Wellington and Auckland, via Lyttelton. The Opihi should be here this afternoon from Dunedin and Oamaru, to load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, via Lyttelton. The Breeze is due on Saturday to load for northern ports. The Waipiata was to have left Auckland yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton. She is due in Timaru about Wednesday next, to load for Picton, Wellington and Auckland.

The Wainui loads at Dunedin on Tuesday next for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne, via Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton. She is due in Timaru on Wednesday afternoon next. The Holmdale should reach this port on Tuesday next from Oamaru. She is to load general cargo for Wellington, Picton, Nelson and Wanganui, via Lyttelton, The Canadian Scottish. The Canadian Scottish will load at Bluff on October 26 and will complete at Timaru, sailing about October 29 for New York, Boston, and Halifax direct. Port Nicholson at London. The C. and D. Line has received cabled advice that the Port Nicholson reached London on October 10 from New Zealand. She left Auckland on September 1 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Cape Horn. British Shipping Benefit. Under the commercial agreement between the United Kingom and Lithuania, which was'signed some time ago, and which will come into force ten days after the exchange of ratifications for the period ending December 31, 1946, Lithuania obtains the benefit of most favoured nation treatment for her exports to the United Kingdom. No new United Kingdom tariff concessions are granted, but reductions in the Lithuanian Customs duties are granted, that country undertaking that not less than 80 per cent, of her total imports of coal and 50 per cent, of coke shall be obtained from the United Kingdom. She also undertakes to encourage the use of British shipping in the United Kingdom and Lithuanian trade.
