WOMEN’S DIVISION
SOUTH CANTERBURY EXECUTIVE. A special meeting of the South Canterbury executive of the Women’s Division was held to meet Mrs Ward, Dominion president, who passed through Timaru on her way home from Wellington. Mrs Evans, presided, and expressed pleasure at so large an attendance, not only of members but also of farmers.
Mrs Ward gave an address tracing the history of the movement. She eulogised the work of the Farmers’ Union and urged all present to be loyal to their calling. Mrs Ward was thanked for her address. At the annual conference held in Wellington recently, the following Dominion officers were appointed:—President, Mrs W. H. Ward; vice-presi-dents, Mrs C. C. Jackson. Mrs J. C. Wickham, Mrs C. K. Wilson (North Island), Mrs Colin Mclntosh, Mrs B. E. Evans and Mrs J. F. Drake (South Island); Dominion treasurer, Mrs Pow.
In recognition of the splendid service given by the Dominion secretary she was presented with a handbag.
