VAN STRUCK BY TRAIN
DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, July 26.
As a result of a level crossing collision at Henderson to-night, the driver of a light motor van, P. Estich, a Dalmatian wine merchant, aged 45, married, suffered head injuries. The van. of which Estich was the sole occupant, was negotiating the crossing when it was struck by the Auckland-Henderson passenger train. The van became firmly attached to the front of the locomotive and was carried more than 150 yards. * Considerable difficulty was experienced in extricating the injured man from the cab of the vail. A oortion of the van had to be broken away. His condition is serious.
