Some hints that should invariably be followed to avoid the possibility of accident:— Do not remove lamp®' from sockets before making sure that electricity is switched off. An electric hot-water jug with a broken lid is a menace. In no circumstances should it be used until the lid has been replaced. If called away while Ironing, remember to switch off the iron. You may think you will be away “just for a second.”'and yet be away long enough for the iron to start a fire. The flexible cord attached to any electrical equipment should be examined regularly, and replaced immediately if found to be frayed or worn. Portable electrical appliances should not be carried from one room to another without first switching off the power. Many women who are "scared” of the radio set will handle a vacuum cleaner v :th confidence. The opposite would be more logical.
