NOTES.

The Storm, which was in port over the week-end, loaded yesterday for Wellington and Wanganui, and departed later for Lyttelton. The Gale is set down to arrive today from the south, to load for Wellington, Picton, Wanganui and New Plymouth. She should sail this evening for Lyttelton. The Wingatui should be an arrival itrom Oamaru to-day. She will load ‘‘for Picton, Wellington and Auckland before sailing for Lyttelton. The Wainui is listed to reach port from the south to-morrow, to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. She should sail that day for Lyttelton. The Westmoreland. The Westmoreland, which left Napier on June 15 for Southampton, London, and Hull, sailed from Caracas Bay last Tuesday. Aorangi at Vancouver. The C.-A. motor liner Aorangi, from Sydney and Auckland, arrived at Vancouver on Thursday. She will leave there again to-morrow for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney, and is due at Auckland on August 6. Personal. Captain S. Oswald is in command of the Tairoa, which arrived at Wellington from Napier on Thursday morning. Captain G. B. Morgan returned to Wellington from the South on Thursday morning. Captain A. Rhodes is in command of the Tiona, now unloading phosphate in New Zealand, and his officers are:— Chief, Mr J. White; second, Mr J. R. Henderson; third, Mr J. E. Semmens; chief engineer, Mr W. J. Meek; second, Mr M. C. Hardy; third, Mr G. D. Beck; fourth, Mr C. J. Wilks; wireless operator, Mr E. W. Windsor; chief steward, Mr W. P. Robinson. Tees Returns. The Tees returned to Lyttelton on Thursday from the Chatham Islands, via Wellington. She called at most points of the islands and was delayed for three days by stormy weather, but had fine weather since. She brought the following passengers to Wellington:—Mr and Mrs Gudsell, Miss Wishart, Messrs W. Morris (chief engineer of the trawler South Sea), c. Rearby, Clarke, Humphreys, Ross, D. Reardon and V. Rhodes. William Caudle,, seaman, died aboard the vessel while at Port Hutt on the night of July 1. He had previously been attended by the doctor at Waitangi. Stormy weather prevented the landing of the body until the night of July 3, when a short service, which was attended by all the members of the crew and some of the residents, was held on the wharf. Interment took place the following day at the Racecourse Cemetery, Waitangi.
