Aug 3 Port Hardy, New Plymouth .. Aug. 4 The only arrival at Timaru yesterday was the Taupata, which came direct from Tarakohe. She commenced discharging a shipment of cement and will load for Nelson and Motueka today before sailing for Lyttelton. The Waikouaiti should be here from the south to-day to discharge coal and transhipment cargo from Australia. She is due to sail this evening for Lyttelton. The Breeze is set down to arrive from Dunedin and should get away for Wellington, Picton, Wanganui and New Plymouth cargo here. The John is scheduled to call for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato shipments to-day. She is due from Dunedin an should get away for Lyttelton to-night. The Holmdale, on the Wellington, Picton and Wanganui run, is expected to call here from the south to-day. Raranga To Load. Prom London via Australian ports the Raranga berthed at Port Chalmers yesterday morning to commence loading for London. She will probably sail on Wednesday morning to continue loading at Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier and Auckland, to sail finally from the last-named port on July 16. Orari Held Up. Having been delayed by rain in the north, the Orari, with cargo from Liverpool, is not due at Dunedin until to-morrow. She will complete discharge at Bluff, where she will also commence to load for her Homeward voyage. Loading will continue at Lyttelton, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, and from the last-named port the Orari is to sail on July 14 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow via Cape Horn. Well-known Steamer Sold. Advice has been received in Wellington that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s twin-screw steamer Otaki, which has been a regular trader between the United Kingdom and Australia and New Zealand for many years has been sold. The Otaki is a comparatively new ship, having- been built in 1920 by Barclay Curie and Co., Ltd., Glasgow. She is 449.1 ft. long and has a gross measurement of 7.976 tons. She arrived at Liverpool on May 25 last with cargo from Australian ports. Personal. The following stockmen have been engaged to look after the cattle on board the Winifred Moller:—H. S Trotter, J. H.
