RIVAL FACTIONS CLASH FIERCELY
United Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph —Copyright PARIS, June 24. Widespread riots over the week-end demonstrated the increasing tension between the Fascists and anti-Fascists. The most serious clash occurred at L’Orient, where 100 were injured, including 28 police, in a six hours’ struggle between anti-Fascists and mobile guards and mounted police outside a cinema in which the Fascists were meeting. The police repeatedly unsuccessfullycharged against showers of stones and broken bottles. Firemen were called out, but the crowd trod them down and tore up the hoses. The mob, gaining the upper hand, wrecked the cinema, and proceeded to smash up the locality. The police, hitting out with rifle butts, eventually dispersed the mob.
