A well-known Wellington business man made everybody laugh in the smoke-room of his club the other night. He said he had invited an old friend to lunch at his house that day, and that later they adjourned for the usual smoke. His friend then told him that he had seen his doctor that morning who had warned him to knock off smoking cigarettes. ’But.” said the host, “you don’t smoke cigarettes. It is always a pipe. Did you tell the doctor that?” His friend burst out laughing. “I never volunteer information, old chap,” he replied. “So,” said the host, “you will continue to smoke your pipe as usual?” “Yes,” was the reply, “but my tobacco is New Zealand, and all but free from nicotine. It’s toasted, you see, so I reckon it’s 0.K.” He was light there! The New Zealand tobacco is not only famous for its splendid quality —but quite harmless. The five brands so well-known to smokers are: Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog). Riverhead Gold, Cavendish, Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead). and Desert Gold
