Messrs J. G. Gow (Blenheim) and C. Bell (Dunedin) are staying at the Dominion. Mr S. F. Harries (Sydney) is visiting Timaru. He is staying at the Grosvenor. Mr T. R. Barrer. of Masterton. has been elected chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board. Recent arrivals at the Grosvenor include: Messrs W. A. Slowley, L. D. Cogah (Dunedin). F. G. ■ Hall, F. Bruorton (Christchurch). C. D. Thacker (Banks Peninsula). Recent arrivals at the Empire include: Messrs A. E. Alexander, H. J. Bowlker (Christchurch), S. Whittiker (Wellington), C. D. McKenzie, C. O. Mathias, I. Brown. N. C. Hale, J. Bell, and M. Faigan (Dunedin). The Rt. Hon. Sir Francis Bell, K.C., will attain the 60th anniversary of his admission in New Zealand as a barrister on June 6, and will have completed 60 years of active practice. The latest issue of the “New Zealand Law Journal” states that Sir Francis will be given a complimentary dinner on the evening of that day by the council and members of the Wellington District Law Society.
