INQUEST ON NICHOL.
DEATH DUE TO HEART FAILURE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 22. At the inquest on the cricketer, M. Nichol, the Worcestershire representative cricketer, a verdict was returned of death from heart failure, following double pneumonia two years ago. Members of the team indignantly denied the suggestions of horse-play. A post-mortem examination disclosed an abnormally large heart. The doctor remarked that it was unbelievable that Nichol had lived such a long and athletic life with a heart that was unable to stand it. KEDPATH TROPHY. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, May 23. The Redpath Cup trophy for the best batting performance in first-class cricket in 1933-34 has been awarded by the New Zealand Cricket Council to N. G. Vivien, of Auckland, whose average was 52.6.
