ALLEGED THEFT OF £650
EX-SOLICITOR CHARGED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 23. William Perry Hollings, described on the charge-sheet as an ex-solicitor and a miner, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with stealing £650, the property of Sampel Wilson, by fraudulently applying to another purpose the proceeds of a cheque which were to have been invested on the security of a first mortgage. The offence is alleged to have been committed on or about July 7. Counsel said a plea of not guilty would be entered, and that on the instructions he had received accused had a complete answer to the charge. Accused was remanded, on bail of £SOO, till next Wednesday, the police stating that the arrest had been made only this morning, and there were many inquiries to be made.
