MANY REJECTIONS
SELECTION OF RECRUITS FOR THE NAVY. By ,el eg aph—Press Association AUCKLAND, May 22. Out of 210 applications for 16 vacancies in the May entries for the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, only 14 lads were finally selected is suitable. The tendency, according to one of the selection board, at the Devonport Naval base, is for the wrong type of lad to apply. It Is considered that there are plenty' of lads who would be suitable for recruiting, but they either do not know of the opportunity or will not come forward. Recruits are invited from all parts of the Dominion from boys 151 to 16i years old.
