All Roman Catholic churches in Sonora, a State of Mexico, were closed to-day by order of Governor Rodolfo Elias Calls, as the culmination of three State circulars to educators, civic officials, aid executive heads, requesting that they should express their anti-fanatfcal views respecting religion. Many oflcials resigned, it was said, as a consequence of this State request, Sonora Catholics claim that the Government ebsure of churches is an expression ol Governor Calles’s antireligious vfews. instructions from the State Govirnment stated that priests must leave the State in less than 12 hours.
