CAMBRIDGE PARISH
FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association CAMBRIDGE. May 22. The latest developments in the parish dispute is the demand by the chancellor of the Diocese on the Rev. G. G. Bell for possession of the vicarage and all church property within seven dhys, failing which a summons for possession will be issued. Mr Bell has replied that he is willing to hand over everything as soon as Bishop Cherrington has satisfied him that he has acted fully within the canons of the General Synod, in declaring the living of Cambridge vacant and in assuming control of the parish. Mr Bell has made a solemn protestation to Archbishop Averill, as Metropolitan, the Bishops of the province and prominent members of the General Synod. In a further statement to-day. Mr Bell challenges a number of statements made by the Bishop, and Messrs H. D. Dallimore. C. W. Boyce and W. Sands at the annual meeting of parishioners at Cambridge last week.
