That New Zealand was not well enough known in the United States to draw a great volume of tourist traffic was the opinion expressed yesterday by Mr E. H. Millet, vice-presi-dent of the Johnson Motor Company, Chicago, 'who is at present in Christchurch. “We Americans are all naturally rovers. We like to go places and see things,” he said. "New Zealand is hardly known in the States, and you should have more publicity. If you encourage Americans to visit your country, you will get them to come.” Instancing the desire which Americans have to travel, Mr Millet said that the Dollar Line, a big American steamship company, recently organised world tours. Their vessels were filled for every trip.

Figures so far available show that up to April 26 of this year, 4,164,421 bushels have been threshed, giving a return of 32.44 bushels to the acre.
