THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist. General situation.—A shallow depression is passing eastwards while an anti-cyclone extends across the Tasman Sea on to northern New Zealand. Winds—Moderate to fresh southwesterly to westerly. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Moderate swell north of Cape Egmont and south of Castlepoint, otherwise smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate south-westerly winds in the northern portion, westerly to north-westerly in the southern portion, seas moderate. Weather—Mainly fair to cloudy and mild, but scattered showers still likely, especially in western districts and ths far south. Mr F. L. Woolcs. Wind—Variable moderate to strong westerly to southerly ruling. Weather—lsolated showers likely, but mainly fair and cold. Outlook for week ending May 28. — Wind mainly westerly to southerly; weather, an occasional shower is likely but mainly fair during the period. Conditions in Timaru. After two degrees of frost yesterday morning, bright sunshine was experienced in the morning, but the sky clouded early in the afternoon, and later nor-west conditions prevailed. The wind although not strong, subsided shortly after 8 p.m., a warm temperature continuing.
