5200 FAT LAMBS SOLD The feature of yesterday's market at Pleasant Point yards was the large entry of fat lambs. Fat ewes and wethers were forward in good numbers, B§§ and for this time of the year the store sheep entry was a fair one. fesf-’l Fat cattle—A total of 70 head was yarded, and prices were not quite on a par with last week's rates. Prices were: Best steers £7 7 6 to £8 17 6, medium £4 17 6to £6 26; fat cows’, best £3 2 6 to £4 17 6. light 37 6 to £2 12 6; fat heifers £3 17 6 to £5 26; vealers to 30 runners £2 12 6to 81l £3/12/6. Store cattle—The indifferent quality and over-supplied beef market was refleeted in the store market and the sale was a dragging one. Sales made were: Bulls 20 - to £2 17 6. heifer calves 16 - to 20. -, yearling heifers 26 - to 32 6. empty cows 10 - to 18-months steers 37 6. Dairy cattle—Few outstanding sorts were yarded, and the market lacked the buoyancy of the previous market. Springing heifers made to £3 7 6 and ■lf springing cows from £3 to £6 5 -. BB Pigs—The market was over supplied. The entry of 60 head met with an extremely dragging sale. Weaners made from 6 - to 10 -. and slips from 11 - to 13/-. Fat lambs—The entry of more 5000 was the largest for some years. All the fat lamb section was taken up. as well as the yards usually occupiecl by store sheep. The quality over the whole entry was not first class as farmers sent forward any lamb was killable. All exporters were operating. and the sale was considered be an excellent one. The best lambs made to 25 1. but the usual run values was from 21 - to 22 6. Fat sheep—Two and a half races ewes and fat wethers met with a firm - ing market. Best wethers ranged 25 - to 27 2. medium wethers 22 6 23 6. best fat ewes 16 - to 18 10. porters’ ewes 12 - to 15 6. Store sheep.—Late rates were received for the store sheep, very pens of which were of outstanding quality. Horses—About six horses were fereri. these including draughts, and hacks.
