LOSS OF WORLD’S OLDEST THEATRE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 20. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON. May 19. The world’s oldest music hall. Barnards Theatre in High Street, Chatham, where Charlie Chaplin first practised his famous walk and other famous comedians first appeared, was completely destroyed by fire. In the early days, the theatre gave a three hours’ good entertainment for one penny.
