SKI CHAMPIONSHIP
NATIONAL PARK TO BE LOCALE. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 20. The New Zealand ski championships this year will be held in August at Tongariro National Park it was announced at the annual meeting of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand on Saturday. A sub-committee comprising president (Mr A. P. Harper), Messrs F. W. Vosseler. and L. O. Hooker, was set up to confer with the Government on the question of National Parks and Reserves. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —President, Mr A. P. Harper; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Vosseler (Wellington), L. O. Hooker (Taranaki), E. Perrier (Christchurch), and E. Waters (Auckland); committee, Messrs C. G. Pryor, 11. Thomson C. G. Lockwood, W. S. Rennie, F. A. Wiren, H. Douglas, A. N. Smith, R. Syme and Dr. G. N. Moir; secretary, Mr J. Hinkle.
