SEVERE HEAD INJURIES
CYCLIST HIT BY MOTORIST. By Telegraph—Press Association GREYMOUTH, May 20. James Carruthers, aged 15, a telegraph messenger, was knocked off his bicycle in Tainui Street, about 6 p.m. yesterday by a motor-car which did not stop. Carruthers, who had just joined the Postal Department, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, and is still unconscious. The police later charged a motorist with being intoxicated while in charge.
