SAMOAN PRODUCTS
LOW PRICES RULING. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 19. The Samoan correspondent f the Press Associaicn, writing on May 11 says:—Business on the beach is bad. There is no hope of recovery until the price of copra gees up. Cocoa planters are realising around £3O a ton when beans are shipped on consignment and £2O when sold on the beach. If copra remains at the present low price ter any length ox time, S.mioa will experience a lean time. The export d' v has been reduced from 30/- to 10/- a ton, and merchants have increased the purchase price per pound to natives accordingly in a hope that this will stimulate production. Police-Inspector Braisby and Miss Braisby have left for England on a six months’ tour.
