HOUSEWIVES’ HANDS
MAY STILL BE LOVELY Hands are as frank as children! They can "give you away” in the j same disconcerting way a child does, by telling some naive truth at a moment when you are forgetting reality. Always wash your hqirds after any dirty or rough work and dry them thoroughly, so as not to leave any moisture to cause chapping and roughness. Then smooth in a hand lotion or hand cream that will restore some of the natural oils and protective lubricants to the skin. When you dry your hands, remember to smooth back the cuticle surrounding each nail so as to encourage it ot grow in a smooth curve. Keep half a lemon near your kitchen sink use it frequently to remove stains. Once a week, give your hands a bedtime treatment by soaking them for several minutes in warm cuticle oil. Massage it well into the skin and nails. On other nights, rub cold cream or tissue cream at bedtime. Wear gloves to save your hands from abuse. Wear old leather gloves or cotton work gloves for outdoor tasks like gardening or painting. If you rub a hand cream or cold cream genj erously into your hands before pulling j on the gloves, it protects them and | keeps them from getting grimed. Wear | rubber gloves for household tasks, esI pecially if you are using strong soaps I or washing powders.
