EMPIRE MEALS
PROPOSED FOR EMPIRE DAY. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 19, 1.10 a.m.) LONDON, May 18. The Overseas League’s campaign for Empire meals on Empire Day is meeting with great success. Three thousand hotels, clubs and restaurants are serving Empire lunches and dinners. The Queen and the Duchess of York have expressed sympathy with the movement. Only Empire foods will be served at many commemorative banquets and 50.000 shops in Britain will arrange special displays of Home and Empire foods and wines.
