AUSTRALIAN COMPANY ADVICES. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 17. The directors of the Australian Glass Company recommend the declaration of a final dividend for the half-year ended March 31 of 41 per cent on preference and 5 per cent on ordinary shares, making 9 per cent on preference and 9 per cent on ordinary for the year payable on June 27. The Mount Lyell Company has advised the Stock Exchange Association that owing to the continued low price of copper and interruptions to production caused by shortage of rainfall, mining operations during the six months ended March 31 were carried on at a loss, and no intefim dividend can be paid. HOLME STATION SALE. A special sale was held at the Holme Station yards yesterday. About 1300 sheep were yarded, the majority being fat lambs and fat ewes. The sale for fat stock was a very good one, and store sheep sold at late values. Sales made were; Fat wethers 22/3 to 24/1. fat ewes 12/4 to 16/3, fat lambs 20/9 to 23/10, aged ewes 6'and 10/-, m.s. lambs 12/5 to 15/-, full and failing mouth ;-bred ewes 17/7. aged I-bred wethers 12/6, weaner pigs made from 8/- to 10/-.
