SILVER JUBILEE OF KING
DOMINION REPRESENTATIVES INVITED. United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Cop yright LONDON, May 16. It is understood that Whitehall communicated privately with the Governors of the Dominions and Colonies, mentioning the King’s silver jubilee accession in 1935, for which something special in the way of celebrations was contemplated, and suggesting that the Premiers may wish to be in London on ; the occasion. Well informed sources say that there is no mention of an official Imperial Conference simultaneously with the celebrations, but it is recognised that if all the premiers are in London, there would inevitably be a tendency to engage in conversations. Lord Hailsham, speaking at the luncheon of the Royal Tournament rehearsal, suggested that the Dominions might be persuaded to send a contingent to the 1935 tournament, as it was the King’s anniversary year. The tournament used to include Empire representatives, the last time being in 1908.
