WIFE NOW PRESUMED DEAD. VANCOUVER, May 15. The disappearance in Sydney, in 1927, of Elsie Ashmore Aird, was recalled in Court here, when the husband, James Aird, secured a Court order presuming her death. He left his wife in Sydney while he visited England. He wrote asking her to join him, but she never replied. A seven year search in Australia, England and Canada was unavailing.
