SUMMER TIME
CLOCKS GO BACK ON APRIL 29. Summer time has two more weeks to run. Calendars and diaries caused some confusion last month, when residents noted on them the statement “Summer Time Ends.” The explanation is that printers prepare the calendars early in the year, and after they had been printed the Summer Time Amendment Act was passed. Under the Act last year summer time ended on the third Sunday in March, but under the amendment it will end on the last Sunday in April. Now clocks are put forward half an hour on the last Sunday in September, and are put back on the last Sunday in April.
