CENTENARY RACE
KINGSFORD SMITH TO COMPETE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received April 12. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY. April 12. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith announced to-day that he has entered for the Centenary Air Race and that he will use a Comet, one of the six British mystery machines which will be specially built for this race. Its cost is being defrayed by an anonymous Australian backer. His co-pilot in the air race will be Captain P. G. Taylor. The pair will leave for England in July to test the machine.
