A statement that the story of a kitten being thrown into the boxing ring during the New Zealand University tournament in Christchurch has been greatly exaggerated was made by Mr D. M. Burns, tournament delegate of Victoria University College. The kitten was not thrown from high in the gallery, as reported, he said, but from a ringside seat, and the statement that there was a sickening thud, was nothing more than pure imagination.— Press Assn, message from Wellington.
