HEAVY DAMAGE
TIMBER MILL DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association HAMILTON. March 27. Damage estimated at between £BOOO and £IO.OOO was done when the Bartholomew Timber Company’s mill, plant and timber stores at Te Whetu, 18 miles from Putar, u. were totally destroyed by fire in ? early hours of this morning. Th ames destroyed between 100,000 anci 150.000 feet of riinu. The night watchman was temporarily absent from the mill, and on his return the place was a mass of flames. The cause of the fire is unknown. Fourteen employees are affected.
