Phillips, the Auckland Society of Musicians is pursuing a progressive policy, and the following attractive programme has been arranged for 1934: Thursday, April 5, “A Talk on Orchestral Instruments,” by Mr Eric Mareo; Thursday, May 3, Concert of Old English, French and Italian Music; Sunday, May 27, in the Lewis Eady Hall, Chamber Music and Lieder Concert, given by the Vincent Aspey String Quartet, and Vocalists; Thursday, July 5, Concert, Modem Music of Various Countries; Sunday, August 12, in the Lewis Eady Hall, Bach and Handel Concert; September, Competitions; Thursday, October 4, S. K. Phillips, Esq., Mus. Doc.; Thursday', November 1, At Home to members, Folk Music by associate members.
