LOVELOCK MILE
OUTSTANDING SPORTS EVENT OF YEAR IN AMERICA. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 20, 7.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, December 25. A nationwide poll of sports editors, by the United Press voted Lovelock's record mile run at Princetown last summer, as the outstanding sports performance in America in 1933. Lovelock received 48 votes, to 45 for Carl Hubbell, pitcher of the New York Giants, the champion baseball team.
