ROWING
EASTER REGATTA. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 14. Although it is too early to make definite plans in connection with the inter-provincial eights at Easter, a suggestion put forward at a meeting of the Wellington 1 owing Association last night, that the prize money fc. the contest should be increased from £25 to £SO met with general approval, and It was decided tu co-operate with the Regatta Club w Ih a view to bringing the increase in* effect. The proposal of the Wellington Association was that the winning crew should receive £35, the second £lO, and the third £5. It wa* felt ;hat the increase in prize money would be appreciated by oth r associations, as it would be of some assistance towards travelling expenses.
