An estimate of the current year’s lambing for the Dominion by the Department of Agriculture shows that j 17,209.000 breeding ewes are expected to I produce 15.457.000 lambs, a percentage ' of 89 82. In the North Island 9.318.000 ewes are estimated to give a percentage of 91.23. which is higher than any ! season in the last six years. In the | South Island 7.890.000 ewes are expected I to give a percentage of 88.14, a fraction less than last year. The Dominion average is 1 per cent higher than last I year, and higher than in any of the ! last six years. The highest district I yield. 95.26 per cent., is expected from , 3.591.000 ewes in the Wellington-West ; Coast area.
