CRAIGHEAD DIOCESAN SCHOOL
Last night, the gymnasium of Craighead Diocesan School was filled with a large number of parents and friends who enjoyed an excellent programme of music, carols and one-act plays. The entertainment commenced with the School singing, very effectively, “The Wassail Song.” This was followed by pianoforte solos by the pupils. As each performer came on to the stage she explained the nature of the piece she was going to play, and gave a wellexpressed account of the composer’s life. Those taking part included:— Misses Doreen Raymond. Alison Rowley, Pauline Morrison, Pauline Barker Diana Elworthy, Anne Hill and the choir. In the second part of the programme, two one act plays were given the first entitled “Catherine Parr.” included Doreen Raymond. Peggy Shrimpton and Jill Lethbridge in th* cast. The play was well dressed anc staged, and very well acted. The secon< play, “Red Feathers,” was acted by True Neill, Elsie Thorpe. Margaret Macdonald, Peggy Pul lon and Alisor Rowley, who with their music am song, gave a very interesting interpretation of the play. The programm< finished with the singing of “Adestt Fideles” very sweetly by the School. Those present included:—Mr ant Mrs R. L. Orbell. Mr and Mrs C. G Bryan King. Mr and Mrs C. S.
