THE TENNIS CLUB MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the Committee of the Geraldine Tennis Club was attended by the President (Mr G. Glen), Mesdames E. P. Bennett, H. F. Bennett, and L. Brenton, Messrs G. I. Plimmer, H. W. W. Williamson, W. H. Jackson! C McGregor, K. Woolhouse, and A. Jones. The secretary of the Temuka Town and Country Assocition WTOte in regard to the draw for the competitions. The Temuka Park Club offered to play a match against Geraldine, at Geraldine. The offer was accepted with thanks, and the arrangements were left In the hands of the secretary. Four resignations were accepted with regret. Mr M. R. C. Miller, who has occupied the position of hon. secretary for the last three years, wrote resigning office as he was unable to spare the time to devote to the Club's affairs. The resignation was accepted with regret. and a minute expressing appreciation of Mr Miller’s services was recorded. Mr A. Jones, who had previously acted as hon treasurer, was elected” hon. secretary, Mr G. Noy being appointed treasurer. In regard to the challenge button competition it was reported that one button had been lost. It was decided to replace it, and to make holders personally responsible for them. The Committee agreed to continue the competition on a properly conducted footing. CRICKET. The following will represent Geraldine against Peel Forest at Geraldine at 2 p.m., to-morrow:—W. Rule (captain), A. Vincent, C. S. Davies, W. Angland, R. Hayes, G. Webb, G. Coombs, J. S. Clyne, H. Morrison, G. Paterson, and E. Williams; reserves: G. Vial and J. Mason. CROQUET. The following will represent Geraldine against Ashburton at Geraldine, to-morrow:—Mr and Mrs W. H. Kirk, Mrs B. Hayes. Mrs H. Broad, Mrs J. P. Cliff, and Miss Marshall. DUX MEDAL. The headmaster of the Geraldine District High School (Mr A. W. Tuckqf) advises that the dux medal for the primary department will be given by an anonymous donor, and not by the Geraldine Old Pupils’ Association, as previously published. "HIS R®»AL HIGHNESS.” "His Royal Highness,” a typical George Wallace musical comedy, replete with humorous entertainment, will head the programme at the Municipal Theatre, to-night. Outstanding musical supports will include a vocal number “South of Shanghai,” The Sundowners’ Quartette, Neill McKay, comedian and eccentric dancer, musical monologue at the piano, and the Williamson Grand Opera Company in selections from "The Barber of Seville.” NOTES. The Christmas party, conducted by the Geraldine Secondary Ex-Pupils’ Association, will be held to-morrow at 8.30 p.m. in the Town Hall, The public are Invited to attend. Mr E. Cholerton, Optical Specialist, proprietor of John R. Procter, Ltd., Christchurch, will be making a personal visit to Geraldine, on Wednesday, 13th December, and may be consulted on all defects of eyesight at the Crown Hotel.
