THE GREY LYNN MURDER
EDWARDS EXECUTED. By Telegraph—l .‘ess Association AUCKLAND, December 11. John Hubert Edwards, sentenced to death on November 2, for the murder of Mrs Christian Cunningham, In her home at Grey Lynn on August 16, was executed this morning at the Mount Eden gaol. Death was instantaneous. Asked immediately before the hanging if h 1 ' y ' ythlng, lasaid, almost inaudible: "My God! My God! Jack Edwards, you've come to this.” As far ns is known Edwards, who was born in Cheshire, had no relatives In New Zealand. The body lias not been claimed, and will be buried by the Rev. G. E. Morton. Anglican prison chaplain, who constantly attended the condemned man in prison.
