ADDITION TO SUBSIDY NEEDED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraphy-Copyright SYDNEY, December 7. The Lieutenant-Governor ol Papua, Sir Hubert Murray, who has arrived at Sydney, said that unless the Commonwealth subsidy of £40,000 a year to Papua is restored to the previous level of £50,000, he feared it would be impossible for the polioe to hold their present line in the back country, near the old German border. Failure to hold the line might entail the loss of many lives.
