General situation—The recent depression has passed away and a moderate anti-cyclone is advancing on the Dominion. Winds—Moderate to strong southerly, decreasing gradually and veering later to northerly in the South Island. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough north of Farewell Spit and between Kaikoura and East Cape, but moderating, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate, southerly winds, becoming variable in northern portion and veering to west and north-west shortly in the southern portion, seas moderate. Weather—A few scattered showers at first in the far north and about East Cape, otherwise fair to fine prevailing, temperatures cold with some inland frosts; becoming milder.
