IMPRINT OMITTED

PUBLISHING FIRM FINED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 27. Giving his reserved decision in the Magistrate's Court to-day Mr E. Page. S.M., imposed the minimum penalty of £5 upon L. T. Watkins, Ltd., for omitting to place the name and registered office of the company on a paper printed by It. The fact that the defendant printed the paper, which purported to be a copy of two articles published in the Melbourne “Argus” was admitted, but counsel for the defence contended that the paper came within the exemption set out in section 8 of the Printers and Newspapers Registration Act, 1908. Mr Page said he did not think that the articles could be held to come within the exception set out In clause 8, and he decided that the defendant had committed a breach of the statute.
