HARRIS—PARMENTER. A quiet wedding was solemnised on Monday morning, by the Rev. H. L. Fiebig, 8.A., at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. Parmenter, King Street, when their second daughter, Eva Constance, was joined in the bonds of holy matrimony to Percy Thomas, only son of Mr and Mrs W. E. Harris, Selwyn Street. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming frock of brown georgette, patterned in shades of fawn and lemon, and faced with brown georgette, patterned in shades of fawn crepe de chene. A brown sisiol straw hat, and a sheaf of arum lilies completed her toilette. Mrs Parmenter. mother of the bride, received the guests wearing black end floral georgette and lace coatee, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of mauve iris and lily of the valley. Mrs Harris, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of brown eelancs?, black coat, and black hat relieved with white. Her bouquet was of lily of the valley. Later in the day, Mr and Mrs P. T. Harris left for the south, Mrs Harris wearing a green velour coat with fur collar and hat to tone. THOMPSON—ROSS. A wedding of interest to South Canterbury people took place on October 23rd in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Hastings. The parties were Miss Pearl Ross, only daughter of Mrs M. A. Lewis of Fitzroy Avenue, Hastings, and Mr Alick Thompson, son of Mr H. Thompson, of Whakatane. The Rev. D. Shaw performed the ceremony. Miss Lock presided at the organ. Mr S. Pocock, of Helensville, a very old friend of the family, gave away the bride, who wore a long frock of ivory satin, moulded to the figuie. with diagonal seaming and finished at the back with a bow secured with a rhinestone buckle. The sleeves were puffed to the elbow and finished with a picot cuff. A hand-embroidered veil was worn cap style with two tiny wreaths of orange blossow. A sheaf of white and pink roses, carnations and ferns was carried. Miss Jessie Miller, Pleasant Point, cousin of the bride, who was bridesmaid, wore a frock of powder blue crepe de chene, made on long flared lines. The bodice had an effective shoulder bow, puffed’ sleeves to the elbow with a long gauntlet cuff. The waist belt was fastened at the back with a wide bow. A crinoline hat with a spray of pink flowers to tone was worn. She carried a sheaf of sweet peas, iris and fern in the palest of mauve and pink. Mr Jack Crawford, of Wellington, attended as best man. Following the bride was a flower girl, Rhys Bowers, dressed in an early Victorian frock of pink taffetas, sprigged with blue, berthe and frills of georgette, pink crinoline bonnet. She carried a basket of pink roses. BRASELL—SHAW.

The wedding took place at Chalmers Church, Timaru, on Tuesday, October 21, of Annie, younger daughter of Mr C. Shaw, Jackson Street, and George, son of Mrs Brasell and the late Mr Brasell, Pareora. The church was beautifully decorated with arum lilies and white lilac. The Rev. A. J. H. Dow was the officiating clergyman, with Mr J. D. Fraser at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful frock of ivory satin cut In long flowing lines and finishing at the foot with a short train. The sleeves were fully puffed to the elbow, and finished with a deep fitting cuff coming to r. p—it over the hand. The veil, caught at back with a half circle of orange blossom, was of silk net heavily embroidered. Her shower bouquet was of freeslas, lily of tha valley and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Brodie, had chosen a frock of Canadian green satin, finished with primrose coloured sash tied into a soft bow at the back and a small shoulder cape edged with primrose ruching and tied on shoulder with soft bow. Ktr ■"-ower bouquet was of Irises and maidenhair fern. She wore a green hr. of raeello straw trimmed with primrose organdie. Mr A. Brasell, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man.

At the reception held in the Bay Tea Rooms, the guests were received by the bride's sister, Mrs H. H. Silverton, who wore an ensemble of grey and red with a red and grey hat to tone. She carried a posy of red anemones and maidenhair fern. Later the bride and bridegroom left for the north, the bride wearing a marine blue cord costume with grey blouse and hat to match.
